American Pies

Adorn your table with a perfect pie centerpiece and find inspiration for your own pie creations.

Combine traditional techniques with contemporary flavors

Pie is for sharing – a delicious way to come together, on any occasion.

Lisa Ludwinski produces hundreds of pies every week at her ‘Sister Pie’ bakery in Detroit, USA. Lisa will show you how she does it!

You will see how Lisa uses traditional pie techniques and takes maximum advantage of local Detroit produce to create pies with non-traditional flavors, including sweet and savory combinations, such as Gouda and Apple, and a delectable Blueberry Blossom pie with a crumble topping.

At the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Make your own pie dough from scratch, roll it, crimp it,  and blind bake it.
  • Make pies of varying styles.
  • Incorporate maximum flavor within your pie creations.

The most important to know for me is how to make the crispy pie crust.

What I like about this course is all about the tricks to make crispy pie crust and how to stop it soaking from the filling . What I like to know more from the course is about the temperature to bake the pie .

OMG, OMG, OMG

This class is “AMAZING”. Every recipe makes my mouth water. I can not wait to go shopping tomorrow to make them all. Perfect pies for the upcoming Holidays. The Chef is an excellent presenter when explaining the lessons. She has such a wonderful presence when communicating to her audience about her instructions. You can tell she loves what she does and it comes across in the videos
