Hoy he hecho un gulash al estilo de Istria con pasta casera, un plato que probé por primera vez hace unos años cuando visitaba a un amigo en Croacia. Me acordé de él el otro día y no podía quitármelo de la cabeza y al final decidí hacerlo yo misma. Así que ayer le llamé y le pedí que me enviara la receta.
Es una comida sencilla y acogedora… una base rústica de cebolla, pimentón, un poco de tomate, la paciencia de una larga cocción a fuego lento y, finalmente, esa salsa profunda y reconfortante que abraza cada trozo de pasta.
Estoy muy contenta con el resultado.

Today I made an Istrian-style goulash with homemade pasta, a dish I first tried a few years ago when I was visiting a friend in Croatia. I remembered it the other day and couldn’t get it out of my head and I finally decided to make it myself. So yesterday I called him and asked him to send me the recipe.
It’s a simple, cozy kind of meal… a rustic base of onions, paprika, a bit of tomato, the patience of long simmering, and finally that deep, comforting sauce that hugs every piece of pasta.
I’m really happy with how it turned out.
