Progress Pickled walnuts _ Third month

Today is the day!!! It’s the day that @beatriztorijagmail-com and I publish the progress of the pickled walnuts from the course ‘Introduction to pickles’ by Robert Ruiz Moreno.

As many of you already know, we started this experiment three months ago and decided to follow up on them to see how they behave being in different areas of Spain. Castellar (Jaén) and Caspueñas (Guadalajara) with a distance in a straight line of 272 kilometers (397 by road). You can see the location of our localities in the map of the third picture.

This is the result 90 days after starting the process:

      Location: Castellar, Jaén, Spain

Ambient Temperature: Today 32ºC. Fortunately we have two days with an important drop in temperatures, but the average of the month has been between 38º and 40º C and the nights with 21ºC aprox. Almost all the month has been as you can see in the last picture, where you can see 24ºC at 00.27h in the morning and that was expected to be less. Daytime temperatures also shot up with the heat wave, reaching 43ºC😅 some days.

Ambient Humidity:24% (this data is from today, sorry I didn’t write it down during the month to make the humidity average, I missed it completely).

Changes: The liquid level is the same as last month but it has darkened a little more compared to last month. It is still clean, barely cloudy.

In the second picture (Bea’s work) you can see the changes they have had along the process.

You can see in Bea’s post the evolution of her nuts to compare the progress and different changes in each one.

We are now in the final stretch and only one month to open the jars! Although before we open them we will do a special post with the latest changes 😎.

For those who don’t know this yet, the nuts are not used, only the liquid and this will be used to make soft drinks. Once strained, it is mixed with a neutral drink with bubbles, type soda, soda, tonic and also to use in salads as a dressing with oil. But I think I will try them too😂.

Ay, how eager we are already and how intrigued to see what results we will finally get 🤔…🤔.

We will continue to report on the experiment😉❤❤.
