Lately we’ve been doing a lot of experiments… so I’ll share with you the one I did a few days ago.

It is nothing more than drying fresh peas. As my freezer is always bursting, I thought… what will fresh peas look like now that they are so tasty? …I dried them in their own pods, and now that they are dry, I will keep only the seeds. For the moment, I have made a test with just a few peas

what a great idea, Bea, I find this experiment of drying fresh peas very interesting, especially now that they are at their best. It’s a creative way to take advantage of seasonal ingredients and solve the classic problem of a full freezer. Also, the photos help a lot to visualize the process, thanks for sharing!

do you already have a thought or mapped out what you want to use them in once they are completely dry.

I’d love to know if you’ll be using them in any special recipes or if you’re exploring various possibilities.🙂

@undefined I have not thought about it yet. At the moment I will use them in a stew or something like that with peas, but not a dish where they are the protagonists. But it’s because they are very few, as it was a test I made a few, they don’t give for much

@beatriztorijagmail-com That’s great, Bea! I think it’s perfect to start with a small test, so you can see how they behave and what results they give you. Even if it’s a small amount, I’m sure they will bring a lot of flavor and an interesting texture to the stew. And who knows, maybe in the future you’ll be encouraged to dry more to experiment with dishes where peas do take center stage. I love your curious and experimental spirit! 😊

Bea: I asked Scooly what could be made with soaked dried peas and she shared this recipe from Anjalina

Then tell me if you make it what you think.

@soldamiani Ah, look, what a good idea, some samosas. I have very few peas, but for a few samosas I think I could use them 🥰.

Thanks a thousand for the idea, Sol. Of course, you will have detailed report when I make them

By the way, from time to time if I throw some query to Scooly, but I think you can get much more out of it 💡💫.

Drying fresh peas right in their pods sounds like a fantastic way to preserve their flavor and save freezer space. Can’t wait to hear how those dried peas turn out and what delicious dishes you’ll create with them!
