🤔Are we truly embracing the full spectrum of culinary diversity, or are certain world cuisines unfairly overshadowed by more mainstream options? 🌟It’s time to shine a spotlight on underrepresented world cuisines, celebrating their cultural richness and culinary artistry alongside more widely recognized counterparts. Which cuisine do you think is underestimated?

The culinary world is vast and diverse, yet the global food scene often seems dominated by a handful of mainstream cuisines, such as Italian, Mexican, French, and Chinese. While these cuisines are undoubtedly rich and deserving of praise, this dominance can overshadow the culinary traditions of many other cultures, leaving them underappreciated and underexplored. Embracing the full spectrum of culinary diversity means shining a light on these underrepresented cuisines, celebrating their unique flavors, ingredients, and cooking techniques. African cuisine, Georgian cuisine (now flourishing in Europe), some others from Latin America, such as Colombian, Bolivian also bring something unique to the table, offering culinary adventurers an opportunity to explore new flavors and traditions. By highlighting and celebrating these underrepresented cuisines, we can enjoy a more inclusive and diverse culinary world.

Absolutely! I couldn’t agree more. It’s essential to recognize and celebrate the culinary diversity beyond the mainstream options. Maybe Filipino cuisine, too, right? With its wonderful blend of Spanish, Chinese, Malay, and American influences. Thanks for sharing wiht us, Lore🙌

I haven’t heard of Vegemite before, @cary-burnett . Had to Google it! 😂 It sounds so tasty! Now I want to try it! Do you use it daily? Do you make it yourself?

This is a good question, Sol. Even if I’m not so familiar with African culinary culture, I think we underestimate it a bit. I have recently watched an amazing video where African women prepared food in a tribe somewhere in Africa. They made bread and cooked beans on open fire using really just very poor “kitchen” equipment.
I was amazed by them. 🙂🙂

Hi, Orsi @orsolya-csernak 👋 I’m really glad you brought this up! It’s true, sometimes we don’t realize the incredible creativity and resourcefulness that goes into traditional cooking methods around the world.
It’s truly inspiring to see how people can create delicious meals with minimal equipment and ingredients. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and let’s keep celebrating the diversity and beauty of culinary traditions from all corners of the globe! 🌍🍲
