There is something so comforting about baking with fruit from your own garden. First you wait for the tree to bloom, then you watch the fruit slowly ripen, and suddenly your kitchen smells like summer.
This pie is simple, rustic and full of that beautiful sweet-and-tart flavor that sour cherries have. For me, it is one of those desserts that instantly brings a feeling of home… a little messy, a little nostalgic, but absolutely delicious.
The jam was the first experiment of the season. Now the pie is here. I think the sour cherries have officially taken over my kitchen. 😊🍒
