what did the Scoolinary Community give you that you didn’t expect?

Sometimes a community can give you confidence to try a new technique, encourage you to share a dish, discover another way of working or feel that you are not alone in the craft.

We would like to read about it:

what did the Scoolinary Community give you until today?
It can be an answer, an idea, a connection, a motivation or simply the push to keep learning.

      We read you 👇

As a stay-at-home mom, the Scoolinary Community gave me something I didn’t expect: validation that my daily cooking has professional value. Sometimes we think that haute cuisine is only for restaurants, but here I found the impulse to apply technique to my usual dishes. My special mention in the #FishChallenge showed me that with passion, study and the right tools, barriers disappear. It has made me feel like a chef in my own home. It has also made me feel proud of myself, which for me is a very big step.

As a self-taught cook, the Scoolinary Community has taught me to correct those things I had learned wrong, to add a little more of that spice to the stew, to cut back on the cooking of that meat in a second, or even that sometimes less is more. The Scoolinary community has taught me that you never stop learning, that it is very important to listen to those who know, to accept criticism and, above all, to recognize my mistakes and change them to improve the dish. Thank you for all the time I have been part of this great community and I hope to be part of it for many more years.

Above all, more confidence and security in the assembly of my dishes and that everything I have learned and continue to learn is enriching me a lot. I continue with my courses with great interest

              • I think various things could be mentioned here on my side! As for courses, I noted to myself in the past that my knowledge about pastry and especially about more advanced – beyond the home baker level – techniques and background has improved a lot since I am on the platform. Now I am richer by ideas about ingredients for various purposes, small tricks that make a difference as well as an angle on modern patisserie that standard books usually don’t teach you. In terms of community aspects, it certainly is motivating to have a space where people are interested in seeing your dishes, and hence there is motivation to create because there are people who are happy to comment on the results even with helpful tips or opinions. For me, for example, this actually is an important platform for discussing food and baking as well – nearby me there are no clubs for semi-professionals or I have no connections to local professionals who would be willing to interact over pastry, so it is great to have others around who also keep improving themselves. 🙌

@rekahorvathr-e2c3b8 Réka, it’s lovely to read how the courses and community have become a space for serious pastry growth and real conversation. 🙌 If we gather to cook together, would you join us even if the first recipes are savoury?

                  • @soldamiani Hi Sol! Sure – I was not reacting to the first post related to this because it is fish (and that I can’t eat) but if it is ok for me to eat and ingredients are accessible in price range, etc, then I am happy to join savoury cooking activities in the series! 💪

@rekahorvathr-e2c3b8 Yes yes! I was just wirting the question and remembering you don’t eat fish. Look at my newest post. There are some rice options. You can join anyway to see us if the fish dish gets picked anyway!
