#FishChallenge number 3
I couldn’t let the fish challenge pass without sharing the Yakutian salad ‘Indigirka’, made famous after TasteAtlas voted it the worst salad in the world and the backlash of indigirka-lovers went viral!
I am also a huge indigirka-lover and I dream of eating it again, but for the moment I had to use what fish we have, pickled herring.
It should be made from cubes of frozen omul, broad whitefish (chir), or muksun, tossed in oil, salt and pepper, with some chopped white onion. It is to die for!! Pictured here with traditional Yakutian sour milk rolls.

Great third #FishChallenge entry, Sarah! Indigirka brings a bold story and a strong sense of place; the frozen fish texture is interesting, though a cleaner cut and simpler plate would let it shine more. What did the pickled herring change in balance? Keep exploring, this is memorable.
