Réka Horváth posted an update
I now have some pastry techniques that I want to practice, so I decided to go element-by-element and get the hang of them. This weekend I didn’t have much time, so I decided that I want to learn a piping pattern that I like. This is how it turned out, and it perhaps still isn’t perfect yet… 👀🙈 Nevertheless, I can’t wait to make a tarte using this next time as decoration! 😊

Hey Réka! Your piping already looks so refined, smooth, glossy and beautifully centred, it has that kind of precision that instantly catches the eye. Practising element by element is such a smart way to grow. Which tart or pastry would you be most excited to finish with this decoration first? 😊

@soldamiani Hi Sol! 🙂 Thank your your kind words! I was thinking of some kind of chocolate & vanilla creamy round tart first, and that time I may decide to have some flavoured whipped cream on top (not ganache like this one). This is just something that I feel I’d like to eat and it reminds me – as for the cream flavour and texture pairing – of the profiterole vanilla cream inside & chocolate cream on the outside concept. I am getting my round perforated tart moulds next week (sadly I don’t have anything suitable yet) and possibly after more is coming on modern French-style pastry including this style. 😇 (Honestly it is quite hard to wait for the equipment to arrive at this point… 😅🙈)

@rekahorvathr-e2c3b8 Hi Réka! 😄 I feel you… that ‘waiting for equipment’ phase should honestly be considered an extreme sport. The idea of that chocolate & vanilla tart with a lighter whipped cream sounds amazing, very elegant and balanced. At this pace, when your moulds arrive, you’re going to be unstoppable. Keep us posted, I have a feeling that first tart is going to disappear fast! 👀✨

@soldamiani Will do! 🙂 But first a round of bread baking is ahead anyway… 😉 🙂
