      Valentine’s Day.

The history of St. Valentine dates back to the third century in Rome, when Emperor Claudius II banned marriages of young soldiers, believing that bachelors made better warriors, but the priest Valentine defied this order by secretly marrying couples, which led to his imprisonment and execution on February 14, 270. Before his death, it is said that he wrote a letter to the jailer’s daughter signed “from your Valentine”, originating the tradition of love letters, and his figure was later adopted by the Catholic Church to be associated with love and friendship, assimilating pagan festivities such as the Lupercales. In Spain (I imagine that in many other countries the same thing happens) couples in love go out to celebrate Valentine’s Day and restaurants usually prepare special menus for these days. Is it the same in your country? How do you celebrate Valentine’s Day?
