#Chocolate Challenge: Truffles or chocolate bread?
Profile: Amateur: Yes, I admit it, at first I thought, what better chocolate dessert than some good truffles? It was five o’clock in the afternoon and my son asked me for a snack and then I remembered when I was a little boy and my mother, when I asked her for a snack, gave me a piece of bread with a few ounces of chocolate; I was the happiest boy in the world. I said to my son, “Give me five minutes,” and I decided to turn those wonderful truffles into a snack from my childhood, but improved. The truffles were finished; I just needed to shape them. I toasted some slices of bread. With a spoon I flattened one side of the truffles, as if they wanted to hug the bread… and then came the magic, a few drops of extra virgin olive oil and a few flakes of salt. My son asked me: “What is this?”. And I would have told him “Bread with chocolate”, but I answered him the snack your grandmother used to give me when I was little. He tasted them and said: “My goodness, what a good thing”. I have to say that I infused the cream to make the truffles with lemon, orange and cinnamon rinds; when it was cold, I left it in the fridge for 24 hours and then I ended up mixing it with the melted chocolate until I got a creamy cream, which I let it cool for a few hours. Then I shaped the truffles and dipped them in bitter cocoa, and let them cool again until it was time to serve them. I hope you like them.Level:Executive Chef
#ChocolateChallenge.
Translated from SpanishMercedes Delgado de Miguel, Judy Keegan and 3 others7 Comments-

Maravillosa merienda. Bravo!!!

I love how you turned a childhood memory into something creative and delicious for your son. The touch of olive oil and salt makes it even more special, a bridge between tradition and a modern twist. Beautifully done!

¡Hola Ttore!
