Galician style octopus
Cooked and then a few minutes on the grill. Accompanied by boiled potatoes, paprika de la vera, early olive oil, salt flakes and mixed flowers.
How would you present it, whole or split?

That looks spectacular! Served whole, it has that dramatic “wow” effect 🤤

Delicia total.

Maloles, that sounds absolutely beautiful—classic Galician flavors with a touch of elegance from the mixed flowers. Personally, I’d go with split presentation: slice the tentacles into thick, angled pieces and fan them out over the potatoes. It’s traditional, easier to eat, and lets that paprika and olive oil shine across each bite.
Grilling adds such a lovely char, so showing off those edges works best when the octopus is sliced. But if you’re going for drama or a centerpiece feel, serving it whole with the tentacles curled naturally could be stunning too—especially if plated with height and contrast.
Either way, your flavor combo is spot on.1-

@judyrusselllive-com-au Thank you for your words Yudy. You are absolutely right. In its traditional form it is better to do it cut and even more so when it is large. This is how I have prepared it many times but this time I wanted to give it another twist as it is a small piece and surprise at the table with this version. There are two of us at home, it was a great appetizer to share this delicacy that we could not like more 😉🥰.
