• Hi friends 👋 Today I share with you my failed attempt ☹️ of the Citrus Peel Pectin Recipe (base) from the course -Mermeladas, Confituras y Jaleas-de Joanna Artieda. An eco-friendly recipe because I used only lemon peels that I had in storage.
I want to clarify that the course is super well explained ✅, but as I am a beginner cook, I think I made some mistake and it was too bitter 😖, to the point of not being able to use it. I’m really sorry! Although I understand that this is part of learning 💪.

I’ll share my second attempt soon… I hope I make it this time!

hi Mary! thanks for encouraging you to share the “failed attempts” as well, because that is also a real part of learning in cooking. maybe the bitterness comes from the type of lemon or the cooking time. Sometimes if they are overcooked, the skins release more bitterness. It also influences if they were very green lemons or very thick skinned. What do you think could have happened? Is there any part of the process that has generated more doubts for you? I’m sure you’ll notice the difference in your next attempt 🙌

        • @sussan_scoolinaryteam In my country you get a variety of lemons that are green, very few are completely yellow, their rinds are not thick. It is possible that the intense bitterness is about that.
I will try to use another type of citrus. Thank you for your comment, it will be very helpful.

      • Thank you for sharing. Sad for you that it didn’t turn out well, but that is how we learn. Mistakes are only mistakes if we do not learn from them.
