Pickled walnuts progress _ Second month

Today again @beatriztorijagmail-com and I publish the progress of the pickled walnuts of the course ‘Introduction to pickles’ by Robert Ruiz Moreno that as you know we started two months ago and we decided to follow up on them to see how they behave being in different areas of Spain. Castellar (Jaén) and Caspueñas (Guadalajara) with a distance in a straight line of 272 kilometers (397 by road).

Here you have the result 60 days after starting the process:

      Location: Castellar, Jaén, Spain .

Ambient Temperature: Actual 34ºC (average in the month between 34 and 39ºC more or less)

      Ambient Humidity: 19%

In this second month, the level of the liquid is almost the same as the previous one but it has darkened a little more with respect to the first month.

In the second picture you can see the change that this way together is quite noticeable (Beatriz’s idea that is a love and has shared with me along with the map where she has located our locations).

You can see in Bea’s post the evolution of her nuts.

We are halfway because there are two more months to open the jars! We will keep you informed of everything😉.

Cooked or not because of the temperature (my goodness what heat you have out there)…your walnuts have a beautiful color right now, a super attractive golden color. Let’s see how they evolve

Love how you’re documenting this step by step. It’s like a beautiful culinary experiment across regions! The color change is so striking, and I can’t wait to see the final result in two months. Also, that map idea is such a sweet touc… true pickle partnership goals!

@lanamihajlovic The map idea is Beatriz’s! This experiment has us crazy thinking what will come out of it. Let’s hope it’s worth the wait😉.

            • What fun to be able to experiment. Cannot wait for the update on how the pickled nuts have turned out.
