      Hello:

I share with you a cake with oreo sponge cakes and vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream. I tried to apply some tips from the course Gastronomic photography with smartphone.

      I hope you like it.

hi Elena! there isa lot to celebrate here! The color harmony is beautiful: soft, creamy, and with a transition that conveys calm. The top decor has rhythm and chromatic play, very well achieved! As for the photography, I love how you chose a neutral background with subtle texture, which doesn’t compete with the cake and enhances it. Perhaps you could experiment with a more overhead shot or a little more open framing to show the entire base and generate more visual air.
what is the most valuable thing you learned from the photography course? Have you tried other backgrounds or lighting to explore different styles? ✨
And if you’re up for it, share this same photo on your Instagram stories tagging @scoolinary_es and Jimena Agois! We’d love to see you out there 📸💛

        • Thank you very much. The zenithal shot did not seem to me to add much to this dish. In the second photo I tried to make a more open shot, with the first one I wanted to pay more attention to detail. Thank you very much for your advice.

The course is very interesting to take advantage of the mobile and learn how to use the light well.

what a beautiful cake! The colors are super well matched, with a clean, even finish. And that swirl on the top… a beauty! I can tell you worked with patience and a lot of care.
Also, I love that you are applying what you learned from the photography course. The composition is very well achieved and the background accompanies without distracting. If you want to try something new for next time, you can use a homemade light bouncer (a white cardboard, a cardboard lined with aluminum foil or even a white box lid) to soften the shadows on the left side. Just place it in front of the light source, on the side opposite the shadows, and you’re done! It helps the light bounce and spreads it better.
would you like to try it next time? It will surely give you an extra touch without complicating things
Thanks for sharing this cute work, Elena – keep creating rich and beautiful things! 🙌
