Not everything in cooking is impeccable mise en place and baking to the point. 😅 We want to see those #epicfail (epic disasters) that left you with great lessons: collapsed biscuits, emulsions that said “so far”, gelatins with a life of their own…
Share your mistake, tell us what you learned and how you solved it.
Because in gastronomy, failing is also part of the art 🧂.
      Use the hashtag #epicfail

Here I leave you my #epicfail from a few days ago. My charred carrots. I learned that it’s important not to work while cooking.

I don’t have a photo, but I’ll tell you about mine. It turns out that, for some reason, I mistook the baking soda jar for the white sugar jar. I had guests at home, served the tea… and you can imagine my guests doing little science experiments: very bubbly tea! 😂

And well, not to mention the countless times my kitchen timer didn’t work and I ended up burning breads, cakes, cookies, etc. Now that you mention it,it’s not just about taking pretty pictures of good results. You just gave me a reason to laugh at my mistakes too and not just show off the pretty. I love you very much, Sol ❤️

@sussan_scoolinaryteam Oh my goodness! I can imagine the surprise of the foodies haha. You always learn from mistakes, sometimes it takes us longer than we’d like 😅 And I love you too, my Su. Have a nice weekend

I love this post 🤣🤣🤣🤣 the problem is that these #epicfails don’t always get photographed, because we rush to pick everything up and remove evidence of the mess 😜.
But I’m going to rummage around, I’m sure I’ll find something 😅

@beatriztorijagmail-com 😅 Right! Horror needs to be hidden fast haha (you made me laugh a lot) 😂 That urgent need to make all evidence disappear is part of the cook’s survival instinct 😜 But that’s just where the best stories (and learnings) are. If you find something, share it, we promise to celebrate the disaster as it deserves 🎉🔥 Thanks for joining in with so much good vibes! It’s worth putting it in text format too

I’ve had a few of these, I’ll post one tomorrow because I have a picture of that one, but not of the others, I’ll look for it and post it

I have a few but I don’t have proof of all of them because they are not usually made, but I’ll share one right now 😉

Those carrots don’t look good eh? 🤣

            • The same thing happens to me, I have no photo of my #epicfails, but I happened to be taking out of the convection oven a tray with cornstarch alfajores lids, I had placed them frozen, after 4 minutes they were browned to the maximum, I took them out quickly and they began to deflate, in the center they were raw and browned on the outside, the oven had started to malfunction, I had preheated it at 180º but in reality it was at 220º…. 8 dozens of alfajores de maicena lids to the trash… and right there I had to start all over again because I had to deliver them

#epicfail 😜

We’ve all been there! 😅 Charred carrots today, culinary masterpiece tomorrow. Love that you shared this. It’s such a good reminder that mistakes are part of the process (and sometimes they even taste better than they look!)
