• “Strawberry Hel-oda”

I’m not going to participate in the challenge with this, my first attempt at ice cream, because there is neither technique nor creativity. What there is is fun and good taste. And I share it with you because you are the best critics!

      The components of the dish:

      Natural strawberry ice cream

      Strawberry coulis

Strawberries macerated with vinegar and sugar

      Tuille with strawberry aroma

      Whipped cream in siphon

I would have loved to take a beautiful photo, with a nice background and my camera, but I live in Seville and it’s 43 degrees, so I had to hurry and use my cell phone. That’s the way it is!!! 😂😂 I know you will forgive me.

carolina, thank you for sharing this beautiful creation with us!
Even if you say you are not going to participate in the challenge with this proposal, for us every attempt counts and is highly valued. Here is love, dedication and a presentation that, even made with a temperature at 43 degrees, has a lovely light and composition. The combination of textures and elements looks very well thought out, and that coral tuile not only gives height, but also a beautiful artistic touch.

Thank you for daring to share your first attempt with such honesty and sympathy. We are already looking forward to your second attempt and your participation in this challenge.
As a small suggestion for your next preparation (if the heat of Seville allows it), you could play a little with the contrast of temperatures or textures: for example, incorporate a cooler crunchy element or even something acidic that enhances even more the natural sweetness of the strawberry and as an extra tip you could give a cold shock for a few minutes (take to refrigerate or freeze) to the plate or container where you are going to plate it so it can hold a few more minutes before melting the ice cream and you can take the photos you like.
a big hug from the community, and keep on creating! ❤️

Yummy, Carolina!!! I think all of us who know Seville take over: if you put yourself to set up set, lighting, backgrounds props … in the end I would photograph strawberry soup 😆😆.

          • @Beatriz Torija 😂😂 also for real!!! Still setting the stage earlier, I don’t know if I would have had time to take a picture of the ice cream. My house is kind of a sauna 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

Well, I think it’s very nice and appealing. Come on, you can edit the post and add the hashtag. Too much we know the heat of Seville.

And I understand you perfectly because in Jaen it was 40º the day I took my pictures. For what it’s worth, I’ll tell you what I did…

Before taking the ice cream, first I prepared the place where I wanted the photo, background, light, and decoration of the ice cream. I did some tests with the empty cup, for the framing, etc. And when I had everything clear, I prepared the ice cream and quickly, cell phone in hand (I take my photos with my cell phone, I don’t have a camera) I started taking pictures. I remember that I put it in the freezer for a few minutes while I looked at the shots to see how they had turned out and I went back to work with a second session, not many because it melted …

I ate the ice cream knowing that it could have been better but happy because I had achieved something “decent” .I think they are the fastest photos I’ve ever taken🤣🤣🤣.

Cheer up and here’s to another ice cream as good as this one😍😍.

hi Caro! Well, it seduced me, why lie to you? ☀️

Between the Sevillian heat and the rush, you achieved a very graceful and visually powerful plating. The pink tuille steals the show – not only for its shape and tone, but also for that cast shadow that seems to be part of the design (in love)! The contrast with the white earthenware helps everything breathe, and the path of the plate is dynamic and natural. great job!
how happy are you with the texture and flavor of the ice cream?

            • @Sol Damiani I’m thinking of moving to the cold room of the catering where I work, at least until fall arrives 😂😂 so I’ll be more productive, for sure!!!

I loved the taste of the ice cream. It wasn’t overly sweet and the natural strawberries really stood out. The perfect scoop: ice cream, cream, coulis and strawberry slice macerated in vinegar and sugar. The combination of sweet and sour made it lighter. I loved that.

As for the texture, I made a mistake and when I froze the glass of the ice cream maker, I did not wrap it in a bag or anything else, so when I poured the mixture, what came in contact with the walls of the container crystallized a little. By mixing, I got a fairly creamy texture, but it could be improved.

In the second attempt I will do it better!

Well, if this is your first attempt, then consider me officially impressed! 🍓 The flavor combo sounds divine, the textures perfectly thought out. And honestly, the heat adds a whole layer of authenticity to the photo 😄🔥 You’ve got plenty of creativity, and even more heart. Bravo! 💞
