Sardines are in season… at least in these parts. I love them on the barbecue, with embers… but I wanted to try them in another way that was recommended to me some time ago. And that is in the salt oven. I bought a few just to try… because I sincerely had my doubts. But the truth is that they surprised me for good. Very very tasty.
I share with you a picture of when I was placing them in the salt, and another one already buried, with salt, with a little rosemary. When I realized that I had not taken a picture of the sardines already done, once the layer of salt was removed… only one remained, the rest were scrapes 😅 and I thought it was no longer the plan

How delicious they must be like this, I’ll write it down. I leave you another idea. I clean them by removing the head, the spine, the tail and the fins. Then I salt them, I dip them in oil and then in breadcrumbs (you can add Provencal herbs or fine herbs to the breadcrumbs) and then I bake them until the breadcrumbs are golden and crunchy.
I saw this idea some time ago and several times I make them this way and they are also delicious.

How delicious! It is that everything is delicious with salt. No wonder you did not have time to take a photo

You know it’s a winning recipe when the only proof left is one lonely sardine! 😅 Love the creativity! Salt-baking with rosemary sounds amazing. Sometimes the simplest ingredients really shine when treated with care. Bet the embers got a little jealous
