      Soul in Bloom

      #PotatoChallenge

      Profile: Amateur

Elegant and colorful little bites of baked violet potato that add a vibrant visual touch. Each is topped with a soft cream cheese layer. Pearls of oil give the bright sparkle and an aromatic touch. Crisp, almost transparent potato paper adds texture and contrast, and the edible St. Joseph’s wand flower as a fresh floral detail lends a sophisticated air to the presentation. A few small touches of blackberry salt flakes and at the base of everything to give light to the plating I have put orange powder that I make with dehydrated peel.

I have called it this way because it is the cooked potato from which more textures and forms have been born to conform other dishes. It is the soul of all of them that shines here alone.

These morsels are perfect to enjoy as an appetizer inviting to awaken the palate with textures and flavors. Also as a garnish for other main dishes as you will see in the next post where I used that potato paper that you see and that was very protagonist .

Later I will edit the post with the ingredients and techniques.

The color of transformation, revered in a dish that seems to *flower before our eyes. Your second presentation is pure visual and technical poetry: the baked violet potato as the solid base of everything, which is elevated with soft, crunchy, shiny… and floral textures. It is a mouthful that awakens the palate but also the imagination ✨.

The plating is finessed, with balance between organic and minimalist. The edible flowers bring freshness, height and fragility, while the oil pearls and the golden orange powder illuminate the composition as if they were little suns. All in harmony, all thought out.
what do you think the St. Joseph’s wand flower brings to the dish, beyond the visual? Does it have a note in the mouth that balances the whole or is its role mainly aesthetic?
Thanks for continuing to shine a light on this #PotatoChallenge 🥔.
what was it that led you to choose just this type of potato for the dish and not another variety? Was it for its texture, its flavor, its chromatic power… or all together? Because the truth is that the violet potato here is not only a base, it is a message. And when an ingredient communicates so much, we are already talking about cuisine with soul.

@soldamiani Michas gracias Sol !

what a beauty of a dish, Maloles! 🌸✨
The combination of the purple potato, cheese and those little pearls of oil makes the whole thing look like a mini edible garden! Also, the touch of the orange powder on the base seemed to me a masterful move to give more joy to the assembly.
did you choose the St. Joseph’s wand flower for its flavor or more for the visual wink? I was intrigued because it gives a very fresh and natural air to the whole!

keep sharing your ideas, we’re all happy to see them bloom here! And thank you for joining the challenge with this amazing proposal.🚀

This is poetry in the form of food. 💜🥔 The attention to detail — from the blackberry salt flakes to the edible St. Joseph’s wand flower — is absolutely exquisite. Each element seems thoughtfully placed, not just for flavor but to tell a story, with the humble purple potato as the soulful protagonist. I love how you let the ingredient evolve across textures and forms — such a beautiful expression of creativity and respect for the ingredient. Truly inspiring work! Can’t wait to see how it carries into your next dish. 🙌🌸

@lanamihajlovic Thank you very much Lana. This dish was born almost out of nowhere just by seeing this wonderful wildflower. The purple potato was delighted to show it off elegantly in her crown🥰❤️
