These days, with the plating challenge, I have not had time to get with these photos to share, but, as a promise is a debt, here I share with you the photo of the torrijas I made. This batch was to take a few to my mother. Until just three years ago, I didn’t make torrijas, I would go to her house and leave loaded with a tupper full. And now it’s the other way around 😇.

They are milk torrijas, infused with orange, lemon and cinnamon. And once they’re done I water them with a syrup made with sweet wine.

It is the cycle of life. Caring for those who cared for us before. Your mother will be delighted with those torrijas. I’m sure she is proud of her daughter who spoils her so well.

        They look great, Beatriz👏

bea, what a visual and emotional delight you share with us! These torrijas have all the look of hugs disguised as dessert. And how cute that role reversal with your mom! Now you’re the one handing out sweetness in tupperware, now that’s evolution with homemade flavor 🥹🍊.

Thanks for taking the time to share, your participation adds so much to this community! And those flowers on the plates are a lovely detail, as if each torrija came with its own spring clap 🌼✨.

you know what caught my eye, the touch of the syrup with sweet wine! What wine did you use?
A tip if one day you feel like experimenting: you could also try infusing the milk with a little piece of vanilla or star anise, which harmonizes super well with the citrus and cinnamon without stealing the limelight. pure magic in spoonfuls! ⭐

Thanks again for sharing this wonder with so much love and humor – keep cooking beautiful memories and infecting us with good vibes and whimsy! ❤️

@sussan_scoolinaryteam I take note of your suggestions… because star anise or vanilla must go very well ☺️. This time I used a very rich wine that I had been given some time ago, I share a photo with you, a sweet wine from the Empordà, a region of Catalonia.

I’m glad you like the little flowers, they are chamomiles that grow wild among the grass in the garden 😍😍.

These look absolutely divine — golden, delicate, and full of love. You can almost taste the citrus and cinnamon just by looking at them! 🍊🍋✨ That syrup with sweet wine sounds like the perfect finishing touch. I’m sure your mother was beyond happy. 💞
