Today I had the opportunity to take a walk in the countryside and they gave me lemons, tangerines and sage. Well, actually they gave me a pair of scissors and invited me to cut whatever I wanted, which made the experience even more special 😍.
With these fresh ingredients in my hands, I decided to prepare a chicken with sage and lemon. The result was a dish with delicate and balanced flavors, where the freshness of the 🍋really enhanced the aroma of the sage. I personally liked it very much.
For the preparation, I used julienned garlic and onion, fresh sage, lemon zest, chicken, white wine and a small touch of cream to add creaminess.
And the emotion of the moment led me to take a little photo for the memory. 🤓

what a beauty of photos! And how nice to see how you took advantage of that field trip.

Your dish conveys that feeling of freshness and joy that you tell in the story.

I thought it was very nice how you used the freshly cut sage and combined it with the lemon, which in addition to giving it aroma, brings a very natural air to the dish. The presentation in that yellow bowl also adds a lot, it looks like the countryside snuck into the table. 🍃

did you use the sage whole or chopped at the end? I was curious because it looks so pretty in the photo, thanks for sharing this very close and tasty experience!!!.

@sussan_scoolinaryteam Thank you! I’m so glad you like the pics and the story, as I wanted to process the feel of the field on the table. 🤗

I used the sage in several ways. In the stir fry with the garlic and onion, then I added a little more to the cream and when serving I put some mini sage leaves on top.🤓

lucky you! 🍋🌿 Being able to gather your own ingredients and then transform them into a dish this special is not only a luxury, it’s a complete experience! That chicken with sage and lemon sounds like the perfect balance of aromatic, citrus and creamy…a gem of a recipe! ✨

did you marinate the chicken beforehand or cook it straight through with all the aromatics?

And that little picture of the souvenir… it sure smells as good as it looks!

            Thanks Sol!

I was actually so hungry that I made it quickly and with everything in the crockpot. 😅

But I think if you pair the chicken with the sage we could bring much more aroma to the dish.😋

That sounds absolutely lovely — both the walk and the dish! There’s something so special about cooking with ingredients you’ve picked yourself, especially when they come with good company and a pair of scissors. The combination of lemon, sage, and a touch of cream sounds perfectly balanced.

What a great idea you give me, I have sage in the garden and the truth is I make very little use of it. That chicken looks great 😍.
