Today news of the rosemary flower salt. Two weeks later I have opened the jar with all the illusion of the world like a little girl opens her birthday present… the illusion has turned into decepción☹️ no trace of that dreamed aroma, nothing at all, the salt was the same as the first day… this state has lasted only a few minutes because I immediately came up…

I thought about the wine salt I make and I think that for it to catch the aroma it would have to be the same🧐

      Plan B:

I have a lot of rosemary, I’ve picked a good handful of flowers, including the ones that haven’t opened. I boiled them with water for a while. I let it cool for a couple of hours with the saucepan covered to infuse everything. In the meantime, I removed the dried flowers from the salt.

After straining the infusion, I added some to the salt that I had already prepared in a bowl. A few turns, slowly so that all the salt was impregnated with the liquid (like my wine salt). Strained and put to dry on kitchen paper that I have already changed a couple of times. At the moment the smell is fabulous and this is what it looks like in real time😅.

Nobody here is without that dream salt..or is he? tomorrow I’ll see the results. If it doesn’t go well, I already have another plan C ( leaves and flowers are already in process )😎.

P.S. As I am writing this post I am realizing that I didn’t taste the salt when I opened the jar! Maybe it had some flavor in it ? I didn’t even think to taste it !!! 😅 But it’s too late now isn’t it ? 🤣

maloles, this is culinary spirit at its best! 🙌🏻

When the first idea doesn’t work, you jump to plan B without hesitation, and you already have a plan C in the works. That determination is key in the kitchen (and in life).

The infusing thing to infuse the salt is a super interesting twist, and the fact that it already smells good is a great sign. I already want to know what the end result looks like. 🙌🏻

That is the spirit, Maloles, never give up. Yesterday I saw that in one of my rosemary bushes there are little flowers, they are not many…. but they are going to be harvested right away. I don’t know whether to throw for salt or to see what I can come up with 😆 maybe the first ones I dry and keep them as they are, as one more spice 🤔.

No tengas prisa y mira bien antes. Así podrás decidir. Pero si tienes pocas flores disfrútalas en todo su esplendor que duran muy poquito 😉😍

What an adventure with the rosemary flower salt! It’s always so frustrating when things don’t turn out as expected, but I love how quickly you came up with a creative solution. Your Plan B sounds like it’s shaping up beautifully – I’m sure the infused rosemary salt will be amazing! And who knows, maybe there was a hint of flavor in the first batch after all! I’m looking forward to hearing how it turns out. 😄

@lanamihajlovic Siii, that’s what happens when you are trying something but fortunately you learn from mistakes and it leads us to other paths in the process… For surely in that salt there would be some flavor, but I will no longer know hahahahahah . Anyway, the result is ready…and published😉🙌.

            Thanks Lana❤

Great Maloles. I love that you are able to figure out and find creative ways to use what didn’t work out the way you expected. That plan B, sounds fantastic and if it already smells wonderful it sure looks good. Let us know how it turns out
