I’ve lived in Miami for the last 10 years and consider myself a local. Our iconic dish is the ‘Cuban Sandwich’: It’s a combination of roast pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard, all layered between Cuban bread. It’s the best and tastiest representation of this city’s diverse food culture.

In South Africa, we have the iconic “boerie roll”, which is a soft hotdog roll, topped with boerewors (farmer’s sausage), Mrs H.S. Ball’s Peach Chutney and grilled onions. I made a reinterpretation of the dish here, a boerie wrap, using a homemade keto tortilla, made from almond flour.

That SO looks like a parade, @mandie-lowe Like the ingredients are all dancing in that plating. This photo deserves a Super #Scoolistar. Nice job on the fantastic pic! If you’re up for it, we’ll post it on our Instagram stories and feature it in our “Culinary hall of fame” (under highlights). Feel free to share your Instagram handle (@) with us if you want a mention!
