Issues with notifications in the new mobile app

I’d like to report several issues with notifications in the new version of the mobile app:

Push notifications are not appearing at all – today I noticed that no push notifications are being received on my mobile device.

No clear distinction between read and unread notifications – previously, unread notifications were shown in bold, but now there is no visual indicator. When I open the app, there is no sign anywhere that I have unread notifications (as was the case in the old app).

Mentions (tagging) in posts do not trigger notifications – if someone mentions me, I don’t receive any alert.

The new version of in-app push notifications (not mobile push) doesn’t work properly – I received a notification saying there was a new comment on my post, although there were actually two unread comments. When I clicked on the notification, it simply disappeared without any action or redirection. I also don’t see how this feature is useful in its current form. I believe it would be more beneficial to have a clear indicator under the “More” tab when there is new activity, and under “Notifications” to have a number or marker showing unread notifications. Additionally, as I already mentioned, new unread notifications should be bolded to clearly distinguish them from read ones. – Screenshot

Notifications do not lead to the relevant content – even before, when push notifications worked, clicking on them would take me to the Home page instead of directly to the post, comment, or related content.

Issue with comment translation – on one of my posts with comments in Spanish, one comment does not have the option to translate into English, while other comments do – Screenshot

It would also be great to have the option to read notifications on the Scoolinary Academy website as well, not just in the mobile app.
Please look into all the above as these issues significantly affect the user experience and the ability to keep track of activity.

They recently told me that my one year subscription is not active. Can you imagine that.

Chef Zenobia @Zen , just to clarify, what I mentioned in your query is that you currently have an active Standard subscription, not a Premium one. At no point did I say you don’t have an active subscription. If you’d like to explore the differences or make any changes, I’d suggest reaching out to our support team — they’ll be happy to assist you step-by-step.

As Sussan mentioned, we’ve passed your comments along to the team and hope to have answers soon. Regarding the translate button, from what I checked (see attached screenshots) most posts do have it. The only ones without it are Lorena’s comment and Mr. Mico’s. I’m still reviewing, as in some cases it appears and in others it doesn’t.

Dear Sol, thank you for your reply. This is a bug that has appeared before. It does not apply to all comments, but occasionally it does not offer the possibility of translation for certain ones.

The IT team has informed me of the following:
Regarding point 1 (push notifications not appearing at all: today I noticed I’m not receiving push notifications on my mobile device), the team explained that this is because there haven’t been any new notifications, not because you’re not receiving them.
As for the forum and feed notifications, this is an issue that still needs to be reviewed. As soon as we have more updates regarding your observations, we will get back to you.

Dear Sussan,
In the meantime, push notifications have started working again, but I would like to point out that it is not true that I had no notifications before I reported the issue.
I am attaching a screenshot of a notification from today’s date, which I only discovered when I opened the notifications list in the app. Based on the date, I noticed that I had not received any push alert for this activity. (Screenshot) First push notification today I get for Zenobia replied to this discussion.
Also, could you please provide an update on my other inquiries:

(Example: When Sol tagged me in a post about moving to Steiger, that notification didn’t come anywhere – neither a push notification nor was it listed in the list of notifications, so I found the post only when I scrolled through the Cooking feed)

The IT team has just provided us with an update regarding your feedback. They mentioned the following:
“On the notifications screen, we made a simple implementation for the launch. It was missing some functionality something we were aware of but we are improving the screen, and the update will be included in the next release.”
They’ve already shown us the improvement, and it’s going to be great. We understand there’s still room for improvement, but the team is putting in all their effort to ensure users have the best possible experience.
