In the lesson for “Yokan”, in the “Japanese pastry” course, he says he uses plastic fake bamboo for this serving.

Can anyone help with where to find such plastic bamboo pieces?

    My searches came up empty.

    Thanks

    HI Yair.

I was looking for information about whether they sell fake bamboo molds for yokan, but I couldn’t find any details about anyone selling them. I only came across several pages where they mention that they make them in the traditional shape using real bamboo. Apparently, these molds might have been designed by the chef himself using a 3D printing machine for his restaurant, as some chefs do when they design their own molds and have them manufactured. In any case, you could make it the traditional way.

I hope this information is helpful, and if you have any other questions, we’re here to assist you.

      Hi Susan

I’m not sure if they had to produce those especially, as it seems to be offered in Asia also for Popsicles )

Take a look at the photos attached. Thanks 😄

That’s great news! Now we know they’re available and sold in Asia, thanks for the info. Let us know if you manage to get them, and if you make the Yokan, it would be awesome if you could share a photo of your result on the Feed.😊
