Scones with Mascarpone and Blueberry. Afternoon Tea. The most challenging part of this recipe for me was to get the scones just right in rolling and cutting them in just the right measurement. I am an amateur but I so want to learn. I love to bake and learn new techniques and methods. #BachourChallenge

Angela, thank you for sharing your entry for the Bachour Challenge! It’s great to see how enthusiastically you dove into making these scones.
It’s so valuable that you pointed out which part was the most challenging for you getting the shape and cut of the dough just right is definitely not easy! Was this your first time baking this type of pastry? For future presentations, you might try using a more neutral background or a plate with subtle details (like the one shown in Chef Bachour’s course) to let the scones truly shine. It’s fascinating how small details can really elevate the overall presentation.
We’re so happy to hear you’re enjoying the learning process. 🙌🏻
Keep experimenting with more challenge recipes, you’ll feel more confident with each one! 😉

@sussan_scoolinaryteam This is the first time making scones. My husband loves when I try new things because he becomes my taste tester. 🙂

Angela, these are so joyful and full of personality! 🧁💜 Your scones look beautifully golden, and the filling with mascarpone and blueberry is such a charming touch. Compared to Chef Bachour’s original, your version brings a more rustic and creative energy—and that piping swirl with the berry on top is such a playful twist 👩🍳✨
Rolling and cutting scones evenly is not an easy task, so major kudos for taking on that challenge. The crumb on the inside looks soft and well-baked. 🙌
What’s your favorite part of the baking process: the prep, the bake, or the final plating?
One small tip: you could try a slightly sharper cut next time to help the scones rise more evenly and achieve that classic tall, defined shape.

@soldamiani my favorite part is the prep. I always loved science, cooking is a science. It’s amazing how we take different ingredients, combine them and they become something so delicious and delightful. And I will share on Instagram. Thank you.

@angieq327 That makes perfect sense—and it shows in your attention to detail! 🧪✨ The prep stage really is where all the quiet magic happens. Measuring, mixing, watching textures shift—it’s like conducting a delicious little experiment, and you’ve clearly mastered the joy of it.
We love that you bring that scientific curiosity into your baking. That mindset is such a gift, especially when it leads to results as beautiful (and tasty!) as these 💜1
