Ali was born in Pageou, in eastern Anatolia, and spent his first ten years there while his father worked in Germany. He enjoyed helping in the kitchen from a young age, and when he arrived in Munich and had the opportunity to cook at school, he felt completely in his element. He began his training as a chef and completed it successfully.
Afterwards, he had the opportunity to work in several renowned kitchens: with Karl Ederer, at Hans Haas' Tantris, at the Schweizer Stuben and at the Käfer with Fritz Schilling. When Karl Ederer offered him to manage his bistro in Munich, Ali took up the position with enthusiasm and devoted himself to the restaurant from day one. Later, he became head chef at the trendy Lenbach restaurant and, shortly afterwards, opened his own restaurant in Hamburg, which was awarded a Michelin star. This attracted the attention of the media, and since then he has occasionally been seen on television.
Ali did not hesitate and opened Pageou in Munich. For three years, he alternated between Hamburg and Munich, until he finally focused exclusively on Pageou. There, he finally changed the concept to Levantine cuisine and enchanted his diners with his culinary approach.
