Golden Hug on Toast
Monday. Another beginning of a week rushing ahead of us. Summer slipped away suddenly, like a guest who left without saying goodbye, and autumn knocked on the door with cold fingers. The temperatures have dropped, the wind carries the scent of damp leaves, and we are all secretly searching for a warm embrace.
That’s why I promised myself to turn Mondays into small rituals, moments of hedonism that defy stress. Last Monday it was a savory crostini, bold and strong like a shield against the rush. This one brings softness, because that’s exactly what I need now, in these first autumn days.
On the plate, a crostini that warms the soul… toasted bread, whipped feta with a touch of cream, pecan nuts like little guardians, rosemary whispering of the forest, dried chokeberries as the dark note of autumn. All of it embraced by hot honey, warm and gentle, like a sunbeam lingering despite the clouds.
This is the embrace with which my week begins. A Monday tradition… a small luxury that teaches us even the most ordinary day can taste like a celebration.
