Garlic Pickle Tawa Keema with Lamb

Tawa Keema is a popular street food in Pakistan and North India. Keema means minced, and a Tawa is a wide, flat, circular pan used throughout India, Pakistan, and several other South Asian countries. Like much of Northern India’s cuisine, keema or queema has Persian roots and was brought to India by the Mughals. It is believed to have been first mentioned as a recipe in writings about Emperor Akbar (reign 1556–1605). The word itself can be traced back to an ancient Turkish word “kiyma” meaning ground or minced meat.

Garlic Pickle is a medium heat, delicious blend of garlic with aromatic spices including turmeric, paprika, raisins, dates, chile pepper, and ginger. It gives this dish a huge flavor boost.
