When Your Garden Decides the Menu 🌿
This evening, we started with a simple question: What shall we cook for dinner?
But the answer didn’t come from the fridge or a cookbook—it came from a walk in the garden.
Freshly dug potatoes, deep red beetroot, vibrant purple carrots, and giant basil leaves turned our meal into something extraordinary.
There was no challenge left—just creativity and color straight from the soil.
It’s moments like this that remind me how rewarding it is to cook with what nature offers, and how vegetables can truly take the spotlight on the plate.

What a wonderful post, Orsolya! I loved reading your message and seeing those images so full of color and life. It’s beautiful how you let your garden harvest inspire your menu, and with such a thoughtful, vibrant presentation too. Growing and eating your own food is definitely one of the most rewarding experiences there is.
In my garden, we have peppers, apples, chili peppers, and a variety of aromatic herbs, and whenever it’s time to harvest them, we always make sure to incorporate them into our lunch. It’s amazing how everything changes the flavors are brighter, the textures fresher, and you can truly feel the dish telling a different story.

The plating is pure joy—bold colors, perfect textures, and a composition that feels alive. That crispy potato finish and the vibrant beetroot slaw are real showstoppers. I don’t have a garden myself, but I do check what’s fresh and seasonal at my local market and let that guide my cooking.
